Welcome to the site! My name is Mike Pierce and I like to paint miniatures. I have been painting off and on since I was about 10 but over the last 5 years I have moved on from just a casual painter to a full fledged addiction! Someone coined a perfect word for it - Figmentia! While I know there are lots of people out there with more lead, pewter, and plastic than myself - I will probably never run out in my lifetime! This website is my little spot to share my work both past and present as well as offer my service as a commission painter.

Just after my daughter was born, I started to get back into the hobby. At the time I was finding that a lot more resources were available online for this community. For the first time painters all over the world were starting to share their techniques and experiences online. I think that was the spark that ended in me picking up the hobby again. I found that my skill level jumped by leaps and bounds once I was able to share and get critiques from other painters. Cool Mini or Not was a huge influence on this.

Before picking up the hobby again - I had mainly painted up figures for my weekly Dungeons and Dragons game. I was the guy in the group that liked to paint and painted up everyones characters. When I was the DM I would paint up the monsters as well. When I finally started to enjoy the hobby for what it was I branched out to other things. I focused more on basing the figures and learning new techniques and effects. Lately I have found an addiction with Games Workshop figures. Predominantly painting up Warhammer 40k stuff.  So far I have a small space marine army, a small nurgle themed army, and hopefully soon a full fledged chaos army. I am very slowly working on a snow themed fantasy chaos army as well. Most likely I will always be working on it!

The last several years I have offered a commission painting service. My goal was to offer others my affordable services so that I could paint things that I had interest in but didn’t really want to collect. I have good list of my services as well as a little bit about my painting philosophy in the commission painting section - but let it be known that I take each commission very serious and handle it with a strong business sense with an emphasis on customer service.

As for my non-hobby life - I am married to an awesome woman whom I met in high school. I have a wonderful daughter and a very busy little son. Life is good but busy!

Should you want to get in contact with me - you can always send me an e-mail or if you use MSN Messenger you can IM me. I hope you enjoy my site and find some inspirations of your own. I just recently swiched over to a blog format as I didn’t have time anymore to update the old site. I hope to continue adding more content. If you have any comments or suggestions I encourage them - just send me an e-mail!
